STS-Series side lock-down trailer systems feature Rite-Lock™ technology and wireless controls to safely and securely cover refuse loads, including transfer trailers and side dump trailers. It's an automated tarping solution that locks the tarp down to securely contain refuse debris, with the Rite·Touch™ wireless one-touch key-fob remote control standard — keeping the driver safely away from the trailer and load debris — plus optional trailer-mounted switch controls. These automated side-to-side systems ensure secure lockdown coverage for standard trailers, and are especially suited to sealed-tarp requirements when using vinyl tarps — important for municipal solid waste and organic loads that need odor, spill, and moisture control.

For longer specialty trailers: If your operation also runs extended scrap or gondola trailers rather than standard transfer trailers, Roll·Rite's Super Duty EX Series offers high-capacity, extreme front-to-rear coverage for trailers needing up to 57 feet of Super Tough mesh tarp.

Choosing your tarp fabric: The load dictates the material. When loads need to stay dry or fully sealed, heavy-duty vinyl tarps in HD, Premium, and Rip-Stop grades provide a waterproof barrier with better odor and spill control — and Rip-Stop is especially useful on routes where occasional tears are likely, since it helps prevent rips from spreading. For abrasive demolition or extreme waste, Super Tough heavy-duty mesh holds up against sharp materials and allows airflow through the load, reducing wind resistance. For sealed transfer-trailer applications, vinyl paired with the STS lock-down design is the typical configuration.
