1 - Which trucks and containers is the DC850 Series designed for?

The 12V DC850 system configurations are perfect for tandem- or multi-axle roll-off and hooklift trucks that handle detachable containers of varying sizes up to 40 cubic yards, using tarps up to 30 feet long. If you always hauling similar-sized containers, the DC800 Series (SKU 69801 or SKU 69802) may suit your needs.

2 - What trucks and containers is the DC850 Series designed for?

The 12V DC850 system configurations are perfect for tandem- or multi-axle roll-off and hooklift trucks carrying varying-sized detachable containers up to 40 yards, using tarps up to 30 feet. If you always hauling similar-sized containers, the DC800 Series (SKU 69801 or SKU 69802) may suit your needs.

3 - What does the 20-inch sliding TORC pivot mean for buyers?

The SKU currently lists a 20-inch sliding TORC pivot. Roll·Rite positions DC850 systems for varying-sized containers; confirm the mount and container range for your truck before ordering. The 20-inch slider will be replaced with a 36-inch slider in early 2027.

4 - Which components distinguish this configuration?

The Roll·Rite DC852 (SKU 69852) features a 20-inch sliding TORC pivot, dual-stage tower, wide bow set, 45° offsets, and 12V power. Its dual-stage tower distinguishes it from DC851 (SKU 69851), which has a single-stage adjustable tower.

5 - Does the TORC pivot use hydraulics or steel springs?

No. The TORC pivot uses gas springs rated to -30°F rather than steel springs or hydraulics, and is designed to maintain near-constant tarp tension through the operating cycle.

6 - How high can the dual-stage tower adjust?

Roll·Rite’s DC852 configuration includes a two-stage tower that adjusts from 5 to 11 feet above the truck frame. Confirm with a Roll·Rite dealer that this range applies to the DC852 configuration supplied for your truck. This measurement is tower height above the frame, not maximum container height; compatibility also depends on mounting and clearance.

7 - Is this SKU a single-stage or dual-stage tower?

The DC851 (SKU 69851) features a single-stage adjustable tower and 12V electric-over-hydraulic power. DC852 (SKU 69852) is the alternative with a dual-stage tower, wide bow set, and 45° offsets.

8 - What is the purpose of the 45° pivot offset?

Roll·Rite offset pivots position the base pivot arm parallel to the hoist frame, reducing potential interference with the load. Confirm fitment with your truck and hoist setup; a dealer can help verify mounting clearance.

9 - Can I upgrade or retrofit to a TORC pivot technology?

If you currently have a DC400 top mount stationary pivot system, you can retrofit your existing system with our TORC pivot technology without replacing your whole system. Contact Us for details or your authorized upfitter.
